The Loretto Heritage Center has recently been selected for an Award of Merit by the American Association for State and Local History. As the Award letter says, “The AASLH Leadership in History Awards is the nation’s most prestigious competition for recognition of achievement in state and local history.”
The Award of Merit recognizes the planning, design, and completion of the new Loretto Heritage Center, spearheaded by Loretto Archivist Kate Misbauer, her staff and committees, and supported by the fundraising skill of the Loretto Development Office. The Heritage Center officially opened on Loretto’s 200th anniversary, April 25, 2012.
