Belonging to Loretto
We are a community committed to the Gospel. As Sisters of Loretto, Co-members of Loretto, and joined in mission by Loretto Volunteers, we face the emerging needs of today’s world. We share community, faith, and mission through works of peace and justice, prayer and hospitality. We invite others to join us as we enter through doors of new understanding and vision of community life, mission, and use of resources.
Sisters of Loretto are members of a Catholic religious congregation
who join together through public profession of vows. The charism of loving service, rooted in Jesus on the cross and Mary at the foot of the cross, shapes and forms this religious community in the church. Response to God as religious women flows from baptism into the Body of Christ. Sisters commit to grow in love and service through consecrated celibacy; live simply, holding things in common in a spirit of trust; recognize and cooperate with the authority present in Loretto.
