Join Loretto in Welcoming All As Neighbors!

Microsoft Word - Neighbor sign.docx
Loretto is joining an informal movement to welcome all people as neighbors and you can join it, too!

This positive initiative started with a simple hand-painted sign in front of Immanuel Mennonite Church in Harrisionburg, Va. The sign reads, “No matter where you are from, we’re glad you’re our neighbor,” in three languages: English, Spanish and Arabic. Since then the signs have been spreading across the country.

Loretto Community members adapted the idea as we brainstormed about how we could respond to the immigrant crisis. Feel free to download the pdf below and take it to a local printer to make your own signs:

Welcome Neighbor

If you prefer the original in three languages, you can find the pdf on these websites:

Thirteen Loretto members and friends of the Community joined with nearly 5,000 others to take part in “The Rally To Move Forward” Jan. 21 in Louisville, Ky. Loretto distributed 75 “Welcome Neighbors” signs and could have given away many more. Thanks to all who made donations to help pay for the signs.
