The Loretto Disarmament/Economic Conversion Committee, formed in the early 1980's, exercises an essential role in the Loretto Community's efforts to "work for justice and act for peace." The members keep the Loretto Community informed on issues of
disarmament, peace, and non-violence in an effort to develop a culture of peace. The Committee encourages Community participation in this work through such unified efforts as prayer, letter-writing, demonstrating, and networking with other individuals and peace groups who seek to live non-violently and who strive to create a world without war.
