JOB OPENING – LORETTO VOLUNTEER PROGRAM DIRECTOR
LOCATION – DENVER, CO or ST. LOUIS, MO
The Loretto Volunteer Program is hiring a new Program Director. The Loretto Volunteer Program carries Loretto values into a new generation by pairing young adult volunteers with direct service and advocacy organizations for a formative year of service and communal living. The Volunteer Program Director oversees all program operations in Washington, DC; St. Louis; El Paso; New York; and Denver. The Program Director must live and work from Denver or St. Louis.
The Program Director leads and supervises a small team of local part-time Program Coordinators while taking lead responsibility for program content, recruitment, placements for Volunteers’ service work, liaison with leadership of the sponsoring organization, and administration, management and operations of the Program. Candidates for this position must share the program’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the program’s core values of justice, simple living, social and ecological justice, and spirituality. The Loretto Volunteer Program is sponsored by the Loretto Community, an intentional, ecumenical community of vowed and lay members that for 207 years has been inspired by the Gospels and Catholic social justice teachings to act for peace and work for justice.
This position requires at least a bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two years of work experience, ideally in program management, social justice activism, direct service, community organizing, or student services/campus ministry. Candidates should have excellent organizational and communication skills. While not required, desirable experience includes nonprofit or program management, developing and executing budgets, networking in the nonprofit world, leading teams, and/or working with progressive faith-based communities.
