Loretto Motherhouse Church Concert Series – Ryan Schuering piano recital

Please join us for another concert in the Loretto Motherhouse concert series on May 11, 2024. Ryan Schuering, a student of Vernon Cherrix, will give a piano class recital at 3pm ET in the Loretto Motherhouse church.

Ryan Schuering has been playing piano since he was three years old. In 2023, he attended the Aspen Music Festival and School studying under Arie Vardi, where he performed in multiple solo and chamber music recitals. He has also attended the Indiana University Summer Piano Academy in 2019, 2021, and 2022, where he had masterclasses with Caroline Hong, Frederic Chiu, and Edward Auer. His accomplishments include winner of the Kentucky State MTNA Competition for four consecutive years, semifinalist in the 2021 William Knabe International Piano Competition, and 1st place in the 2024 Nathaniel Patch Piano Competition. In 2021, he gave a recital at the University of Kentucky, and he has also given several recitals at Loretto Motherhouse in Loretto, KY since 2019. He also was a fellow of the national radio program From the Top in 2021, where he connected with other young musicians and performed on Show 407. Ryan will be attending Oberlin College and Conservatory in the fall as a dual-degree student, where he will study with Stanislav Ioudenitch.
