The dining room at the Loretto Center was filled with friends and family of Ann Wall Richards this past Dec. 19. Ann had completed the process for becoming a co-member in the Loretto Community, and it was time to celebrate with her nine communities that were represented in the room. Ann shared a good deal of her journey. One could only think about the fullness of her life and the many ways in which she had embraced Loretto life well before becoming a co-member.

Ann’s son was there from Ohio and said a few words. Loretto President Pearl McGivney welcomed Ann into the Loretto Community. Some of Ann’s friends from various communities spoke of how special Ann is to them.

Ann’s Community Group plied us all with goodies to eat, and drinks were provided by others. There was an able team of four who set up and cleaned up.

We are happy to welcome Ann to the Loretto Community — we believe that she will be a great asset.

Thanks to all who helped us celebrate.

Anna is a housing enthusiast (especially for homeless people). She is busy trying to get the Denver Catholic Worker open and sits on the board of the Beloved Community Village which is a tiny home village for homeless people.
