Denver Community members protest federal tax policy

We stood on the corner of two busy streets with a sign that suggested we use our tax dollars for peace, for the people, for the planet. Holding banners and signs to communicate values that support life has long been a practice of peace communities. This year the painfully-seering reality that our taxes are supporting weapons for genocide is intolerable and unthinkable. But, it’s happening, and it seems we have little to no agency. Holding the banner for an hour on April 15 was such a small effort to say we can’t be silent about war, violence, racism, genocide and hate all being paid for by our tax dollars again and again and again.
