Psalm 92 tells us, “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name most high; to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at nighttime.”

The abundant fruitfulness of the earth is a wonderful gift of our Creator: bread from the fields and wine from the orchards. May our gratitude know no bounds as we praise God for all we have been given. It is our Thanksgiving task now to return to the Giver what we have received. Placed in our hands, every gift is to be shared.

Gratitude is the gesture of Jesus’ heart and ours as we open ourselves to receive Him at Eucharist, at this special meal. Let’s celebrate for all the times when we can be together in the joy of Jesus’ and our love and care for one another.

This week on our Facebook page, with content courtesy of Loretto’s Latin America/Caribbean Committee, Loretto recognizes and honors the contributions of all farmworkers who cultivate the land and bring food to our tables. Join us this Thanksgiving season in giving thanks not only for the food we share, but also for the hard-working hands behind it. We express our deep gratitude to the farmworkers who keep us healthy and well fed, and a Happy Thanksgiving to all!
