Loretto, Faith Communities Cooperate in Life-giving Mission of Jesus

In the midst of the political, cultural and religious divides that seem to permeate organizations, churches and even families today, Loretto seeks to collaborate with other faith communities to live out the values we hold dear.

We know we are all created by God and are more alike than we are different. At the core of our being, we share the same concerns, hopes and dreams for all people and Earth.

We must take the global wisdom given us from God to pray for reconciliation for all peoples. The work Loretto and our colleagues do together is the message of the Gospel. Our goal as members of the one family of God is to work with other faith communities and build bridges of solidarity. Please join us in these efforts.

We commit ourselves in “cooperation with others engaged in creating a more just and peaceful world (which) is crucial to fruitful mission.” (I Am the Way, Loretto’s Constitutions, #40)

During this season of Lent as we fast, give alms and pray, as we work with organizations and faith communities, we can ask God to make us worthy instruments of the peace and justice the world needs.
