Pray, Play and Eat! Soup’s On!

God touches us deeply in the very core of our daily lives, be it in the ways we work, pray, play and, yes, even eat!

In the week ahead on Loretto’s Facebook page we will feature one aspect of God’s providence to us: SOUP! Healthy soup, tasty soup, new soup and ethnic soup — all recipes that will warm your heart, heal your soul and bring you joy.

A hearty soup can make a meal. And, as Mary Ann McGivern SL notes in the introduction to her book, “Not by Bread Alone: Recipes and Reflections for Christian Cooks,” “Meals are a gift to ourselves and those we love.”

Loretto is sending its love in dedicating each daily soup to one of the Community’s many committees and networks. Since their inception to today, these groups have sought tirelessly “to fill the hungry with good things,” nourishing the body and feeding the soul. In their honor and for the greater glory of God, we invite you to set the table for hungry friends, set it for a lonely neighbor, set it for food given to us that cries out to be given away. Celebrate joy in the sharing.
