The Loretto Website: Your Window to Loretto’s World

Welcome! Journey with us this week through a few Loretto web highlights. The entries are about Loretto members and works of mission that are important to us. We are sure you wonder at times what we are up to! You are invited to reflect with us, join in solidarity with the causes we support and get new insights as to what we consider some priority endeavors.

We engage in these important activities because it is the Gospel imperative to do so and because we promised to be faithful. We try to always keep our promises. I Am the Way, the Constitutions of the Sisters of Loretto, reminds us, “Our life in community in the present time empowers us for mission and is itself an expression of mission. Rejoicing in and strengthened by our mutual love, we go forth to meet our farther neighbors in their human needs and aspirations. We seek to reach out beyond boundaries imposed by any differences that tend to separate us.” (#35)

Loretto was formed and is still being formed by God’s initiative of grace. So, the agenda for Loretto’s mission work is in response to what God calls us to be and do. We have one foot rooted in our past formation and the other foot planted in the future. It is sometimes a stretch! Join with us in walking through a few of life’s biggest challenges. Get ready to stretch!
