Easter is not over. In fact, Easter is never over. Easter is the most important feast of the entire Church year, we are invited to embrace this great mystery and are called to bear witness to Christ in both His Paschal sacrifice and sacramental gifts to us – His Body and Blood. Broken and shared. Given and received.

How do we share this wonderful feast? We witness it as we now are called to make our faith known in word and deed. Are we people of peace and forgiveness? Are we people of healing and hospitality? Are we people who feed the hungry and reach out to those who suffer from poverty? Yes, we are! No matter our faith beliefs, no matter our Church membership, no matter our education, no matter our family history. We belong. We are Easter people and “Alleluia is our song.”

The light of Christ surrounds us. The light of Christ enfolds us.

Situations can change; people can change. Be the first to seek to bring good.

Pope Francis

This week on Loretto’s Facebook page, Loretto honors the life and death of Pope Francis who was called by God on April 21, 2025, to return to God’s eternity. Pope Francis’ whole life lived out the call of the Prophet Micah: “to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with God.”

Loretto is especially grateful for Francis’ commitment to immigrants and refugees. Francis was committed to Earth and to a mission of justice. He worked for a Church that called for unity, dialogue and hope; especially for a world in need of compassion and mercy. We recommit ourselves to that mission as we pray the words of St. Paul to the Philippians 1:6: “The One who began this good work in you will see that it is finished when the Day of Christ Jesus comes.”
