Celebrating Loretto’s family connections!

Who knew?! There are so many family connections within Loretto. We have a cousin triangle – Marlene Spero SL is cousin to Joan Spero SL, who is cousin to Denver Loretto Co-member the Rev. Marty Lally. If you visit Pakistan’s Loretto house you will meet the Daniel siblings, Sisters Nasreen and Maria. Or maybe you know the Novak sisters, Loretto Co-member Marianne and Loretto Sister Valerie. And in Kentucky, the Quayhagen twins – Loretto Sisters Margaret and Mary – we still can’t tell them apart! And there are the Mattinglys and the Hagans and, of course, all the Tighe sisters/Sisters (here and in heaven), and wait – two more: Lillian Bruce Moskeland CoL and Mary Peter Bruce SL (here and in heaven, too.)
Our Loretto history names many members who are or were related, including the Bowlings, the Spaldings, the Browns, the Coomes/Drury descendants and five families with five daughters who became Loretto sisters in addition to being siblings. And we thank God for every one of them, even if we cannot tell some apart!
