I was born in Washington, D.C., and traveled west from there to Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Texas and a few other places. After graduation from Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, Mo., II attended Mundelein College and Quincy University in Illinois.
After college graduation with a degree in accounting I went to work in public accounting for seven years and earned my Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate. Then I worked for 40 years in non-profits, primarily in the accounting field. I also served as a high school business and accounting teacher, a parish administrator, a chief operating officer and served on a number of non-profit boards. During these years I met several Sisters of Loretto at various non-profits and joined the congregation. Through my work at Nerinx Hall High School in Webster Groves, Mo., and Loretto Academy in El Paso, Texas, I have experienced the amazing educational work that continues in Loretto schools.
As a member of the Investment Committee, I learned of a microfinance group working in Haiti, served on the group’s board and had the opportunity to live in Haiti from 2003 to 2005. Loretto also has allowed me to spend time in Guatemala and El Salvador, where I had wonderful experiences with the communities and cultures there.
For six years, beginning in 2013, I served as the Treasurer of the Sisters of Loretto. I also have served for several decades on the Loretto Investment Committee, the Guatemala Sister Community Committee, the Discernment Committee, the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee. I look forward to serving on the Executive Committee again as Loretto moves into the future.
