The Loretto Heritage Center has wrapped up a vibrant 2026 quilt show. It is always bittersweet to watch the quilts come down from the racks. This year we had 80 pieces on display, representing the work of more than 100 different people. The oldest quilts on display this season were from the late 1880s while the newest quilt was completed earlier this year. Roughly 200 visitors were welcomed into the museum to view the display and many of them stayed for several hours, making sure to give every quilt a generous amount of their time. We even had a few repeat visitors!

Now that the show has closed, we thought it would be fun to look at the ways in which these quilts connect with Loretto Community history and other materials in our archival collections. Visit Loretto’s Facebook page this week to view the connections!
