Loretto Members Share Talents, Enriching Lives of Others & Themselves

The love of God prompts the choices we make as members of Loretto. This love is experienced in us as an action of grace to which we personally respond.

The French moralist Joubert wrote, “The evening of a well-spent life brings its lamps with it.” Our posts this week on Loretto’s Facebook page are part of our members’ new beginnings and well-spent lives. All highlighted have had myriad mission experiences. All have used their gifts in service for others. And the gifts keep coming. The gifts keep on giving. The gifts keep on enriching the lives of the giver and enriching the lives of the receiver.
Parker Palmer, writing in “The Courage to Teach,” says, “Some of us may learn that conventional rewards pale as we experience the satisfaction of living by our best lights.” How do we live by our best lights? We figure out who we are, we figure out what our gifts are, and we use them. It takes energy, self-insight and a life filled with giving!
How lucky Loretto is to call these women our own, and how grateful we are for all our members, who have an astonishing range of gifts that they share with open hearts. To this coming week’s feature of “gift-givers” we all say thank you. To be with any one of them is a treat, for each is filled with light, hope and goodness.
