Remembrance of the Life of Patricia ‘Pat’ McShea CoL

Patricia ‘Pat’ McShea CoL

Loretto Co-member Patricia “Pat” (Miller) McShea died peacefully Oct. 23 at her home in Littleton, Colo. Pat’s husband, Loretto Co-member George McShea, and their daughter, Joyanne, were at her side.  

Pat was 90 and in the 40th year of her Loretto commitment. She had become a co-member in 2003. She was received into Loretto as a vowed member May 24, 1954, taking the name Sister Patricia Mary Miller. She was dispensed from vows Jan. 14, 1972.

Pat was an educator, working in special education. She was involved in the beginning of Havern School in Colorado and designed a special education program for the Littleton school system. She married George, and they are the parents of Joyanne and Michael.

Pat continued teaching in the school system of the Archdiocese of Denver as an elementary teacher or administrator in an inner-city school with a Hispanic population. Later in their retirement years Pat and George were involved in social justice work.

Please keep Pat, George, Joyanne, Michael and all their loved ones in your prayers. May Pat rest in peace.
