In 1824 the sisters of Loretto made the 8.5-mile journey to found what is now the Loretto Motherhouse. On June 27, in celebration of the location’s 200th year, members of the community will follow in their footsteps.

Organized by Loretto Sister Elanor Craig, the community’s historian and former director of Loretto’s Heritage Archives and Museum, the journey is set to begin at St. Charles Church at 5 p.m. and will take participants from the area to the Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx over approximately three hours by foot, wagon, and car, taking the same route the sisters made 200 years ago.
