On February 10 Anna Koop and Mary Ann McGivern left Louisville, Ky., destined for Lahore, Pakistan. They flew from Louisville to Dallas, to Doha in Qatar, then on to Lahore. Awaiting their arrival were Nasreen Daniel, Maria Daniel and Samina Iqbal along with women interested in becoming Sisters of Loretto.

The Denver Community gave Anna a great send-off ritual before she went to Loretto Motherhouse to join Mary Ann.

At the Motherhouse a ritual included a repeat of a psalm sung in Urdu by Pakistani sisters and friends. In both rituals there were special wishes and blessings given orally and in writing. Both ended with “We Give You Glory” as friends held their hands high.

As the two left on Friday morning, Donna Mattingly rang the mission bell that has seen many Lorettos depart for other countries.
