“We as Sisters of Loretto, Loretto Co-members, share in that mysterious gift of the Holy Spirit which quietly and decisively brought Loretto into being and keeps it alive today.” (I Am the Way, Loretto’s Constitutions, #1)

One of the great gifts of the Holy Spirit that has evolved through time is the gift of language. Words can be powerful. If one takes them to heart, look what happens. Think of something you recently read. Did it move you? Did you agree or disagree with it? Have you returned to thinking about it? How important the written word is to humankind.

Which in part explains why Interchange is so important to the life and times of Loretto. Loretto’s longtime internal monthly newsletter is a work of love, a work of ideas, all written to help us remember and celebrate the experiences of the Loretto Community and those we serve.

Published now for more than half a century and counting, Interchange has been blessed throughout the years with gifted editors. Current editors, all Loretto Community members like their predecessors, work diligently to bring thoughtful and engaging news of interest to the Loretto Community and friends. Articles range from personal accounts to features detailing current mission work. Recent issues have featured a sister’s description of her move to the Motherhouse and her deep gratitude for the wonderful care received in the Living Center, a feature covering this past October’s Loretto Gathering, and Jeannine Gramick SL’s captivating personal narrative of her meeting Pope Francis.

There is so much going on in Loretto, and Loretto’s Interchange editors are on board to share the good news. This week on Facebook we are featuring those wonderful Interchange editors! Current editors are Martha Alderson CoL, Kathy Baldwin CoL, Donna Day SL, Kathy Santopietro Weddel CoL, Jen Staed CoL and Annie Stevens CoL.
