Since 1824, the Sisters of Loretto have called Loretto Motherhouse – a land of deep interior forests, tranquil lakes and blooming meadows – home. Countless people have lived, worked and prayed on these grounds. Rich in history, the land reflects the contributions of Indigenous Peoples and Black Americans whose forced labor shaped its early days. Today, Sisters and Co-members continue to live in community at Loretto Motherhouse.
Come visit! Experience its warm hospitality and the peace, beauty and transformative spirit of 800 acres of sacred land. Explore, learn, heal, rest – there’s something here for everyone. We value strengthening local partnerships, inviting people to explore the property and providing learning opportunities.
