Wednesday Witness

Posted on March 25, 2026, by Mary Ann McGivern SL

Last Wednesday marked the first year anniversary of the Wednesday Witness in Lebanon, Ky. Sisters, Co-members and Marion County residents gather on a Lebanon street corner holding signs every Wednesday rain or shine in order to invite passersby to open their minds and hearts.

Of the regular dozen Motherhouse protesters, it just happens that six are in their 80s and six are in their 90s. We carry chairs as well as signs. We wave and smile at everyone. If a car should experience a burst of gas and make a rude noise, we know they are in a hurry to return a library book. A number honk loudly in our favor, but mostly, they wave softly and smile back at us.
