Everyone around the Loretto Motherhouse is exclaiming over the recognition of Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary as “The Best of Kentucky” by the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KAHCF/KCAL).

Administrator Michelle Essex accepted the award at the association’s annual meeting Nov. 17 at the Galt House in Louisville. “The Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary has consistently held a five-star rating which is recognition of the care provided by our amazing staff,” she said.

In the KAHCF/KCAL press release announcing the award, President Betsy Johnson said, “There has never been a more important time to honor our nursing facilities and their staff. The dedicated providers and staff have been the picture of strength and compassion this past year. As we struggled with the pandemic, threatening viruses, workforce shortages, and natural disasters, they confronted these struggles with a positive spirit and kept their residents at the forefront. We are honored to recognize these providers as the top of their class.”

Congratulations to Michelle on her leadership and to the marvelous staff who care for our residents every day and every night, who keep all the wheels running, and everything clean and beautiful.

I am confident that I speak for all of us in Loretto to say THANK YOU and so very well done!
