Bob Strobridge CoL

Bob Strobridge CoL is a talented artist who generously shares his gifts with the Loretto Community. You will see his colorful, creative banners and artwork throughout this website. Indeed, his art was the inspiration for the feel of the website. His work joyfully, quixotically and powerfully represents the Loretto spirit.

Bob tells his story this way:

“I was born into the Methodist religion on 1929 in the Colorado Rockies. My father took a job as an athletic coach in Waterloo, Iowa, the following September, and that was where I spent my youth. My Fine Arts degree is from the Kansas City Art Institute when I was 25, and that was where I started teaching and working as a graphic designer and publishing art director. I continued teaching and working around the middle west and found myself at Webster College in 1962. Those were wonderful years, and like everyone else did, I loved Loretto Sister Gabriel Mary Hoare. After my partner, Joseph Guerinot, died I became a co-member in the Loretto Community, and have been stitching together banners with them ever since from my farmhouse in the Southwest of France.”
