What is Emerging?

Every February we celebrate St. Valentine’s Day. It’s not so much a day to celebrate the person known as Valentine, but a day to express our love and receive love in return. There is a deeper more expansive love than the usual Valentine’s Day love, and that is Divine Love. Ilia Delio, in her blog post, “The Birth of God is Our Future,” describes Christmas as the Big Bang of Divine Love.

This love is centered in our soul. It is the energy that spreads itself throughout the Universe. It is God emerging in our world with a power to transform our hearts. Ilia wonders if we human beings truly take on this Divine Love. To be this kind of a loving human we must let go of controlling what we give and receive. Allow love to flow without conditions or restrictions to all beings in the Universe. Also we need to learn to let go of our self-centeredness and accept our vulnerability, becoming one with those who suffer and developing the gift of compassion.

This Love is being born anew in us. We have the capacity to create a world of peace and justice, harmony and dignity. How do we learn these truths in our present world of untruths? It is when we learn to love ourselves as we are, the way God loves us, with no conditions. This truth frees us and enables us to be transformed. Yes, this Love is being born anew in us. Let us embrace it, love ourselves as we are. The future of the Universe lies in our hands.
