Thank you for your steadfast support of Loretto. Your generous gifts of friendship, prayers, encouragement, time, talent and financial support this past year and throughout the years keep us actively engaged in ministries of service within Loretto and beyond. As faithful companions, you help ensure the care of our Sisters and the carrying out of our mission. Your generosity is more than heartwarming, and I am deeply grateful for your fidelity to Loretto.

In these days after Easter, I find myself returning to the Gospel story of the Road to Emmaus. Two disciples, discouraged by all that had happened in Jerusalem, walked alongside Jesus without recognizing him. Only later, when Jesus was breaking bread with them, did they recognize him. It makes me wonder about the times I, too, may not have recognized Jesus in those who touch my life and the life of Loretto. Please know of my sincere gratitude for the many ways you reveal Christ’s presence among us.

This summer Loretto will walk its own “Road to Emmaus” as many of us come to the Motherhouse for our Gathering. We will celebrate where we have been, honor our ongoing mission and look with hope toward the future. It will be a time to draw strength from one another and renew our “Strength for the Journey,” the theme of our days together. Please keep us in your prayers as we seek to recognize Jesus in the work before us and gather strength for the years ahead. We trust these conversations will lead us toward a future guided by our faith and common sense, and we rejoice that we will not walk this road alone.

May the peace of the Risen Christ accompany you on your own journey, as you have so faithfully accompanied ours.
