Creating New Life in Old Spaces

After a long restoration, the Old Tobacco Barn at Loretto Motherhouse has has been a crucial part of bringing new life to the Motherhouse. So far it has hosted farmer field days, many meetings, tour groups, a group of 75 energetic school kids, local 4-H groups and more. As we move into summer, the barn will be bustling as host to our Nature Run 5k, Where the Wild Things Are summer camp, a landowner forestry learning session, the Cooperative Extension Service Farm Family Field Day, and a Farm to Table Dinner in the fall. We’re excited to continue using this space for our needs and the needs of our surrounding community. We invite you all to join us on June 21 for our first annual Nature Run 5k “Our trail run is second to Nun” at the Old Tobacco Barn. If you are not local to the Motherhouse, you can register as a virtual participant. All funds raised will be used for programming at the Motherhouse that furthers the mission of the Loretto Community.
