October is National Archives Month, and the work of an archivist is serious business! Sometimes what’s needed in order to stay sane in all that seriousness is a good, old-fashioned sense of humor. This week on our socials we’ll follow the Loretto Heritage Center’s Archives Coordinator, Kaylee Dunston, as she goes about typical archival tasks. Among other things, her work includes tasks such as processing materials, answering research requests, performing an artifact inventory, assisting with exhibit design and construction, and guiding guests through their visit to the Heritage Center. Like a graceful gazelle being hunted by a lioness, Kaylee’s work requires her to stay alert and nimbly leap across the archival landscape, moving from task to task while maintaining her sense of whimsy.
