Holy Family High School Honors Loretto

Posted on June 1, 2023, by Loretto Community

The Sisters of Loretto started Holy Family High School (HFHS) in Denver in 1922. In celebration of the end of the 100th year of the school, HFHS awarded Loretto the St. Joseph Award. This tribute honors the nearly 200 Sisters of Loretto who served at HFHS as teachers, administrators, mentors and friends.

Also of note, Ken Fitch initiated the Mary Luke Tobin Award at HFHS for a senior who exemplifies leadership in action in social justice. Joan Spero and Marty Lally (both graduates of HFHS) are on the application committee. This year the award was given at their 2023 Tiger Gala on April 22.

Enjoying the gala are, from left, Marty Lally, Cathy Mueller, Joan Spero, Mary Nelle Gage, Mary Ellen McElroy, Leandra Schaller OSF, Matt Hauptly (school principal), Anna Koop and Lee Giacoletto.
