Loretto’s Latin America/Caribbean Committee (LACC) was founded in 1985. It exists to be a healing presence, a source of hope and a force for change. It seeks justice and peace for all who are impacted by the inhumane immigration policies and the decades-long interventionist foreign policy of the United States throughout the region.

Among its key initiatives is the “Immigration Spotlight.” The Immigration Spotlight is a monthly opportunity to explore emerging issues and challenges regarding immigration, featuring people working for immigration justice. Past speakers have touched on detention centers, the border crisis, farmworkers, asylum-seekers, refugees and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Go to Loretto’s Facebook page this week to see highlights from the Immigration Spotlight series. The Spotlights likely will touch your hearts, make you think and, perhaps, move you to action.
