Loretto Magazine’s Fall Issue Focuses on Loretto’s Mission of Education: A Tradition of Excellence Since 1812
Posted on September 25, 2023, by Loretto Community
The fall issue of Loretto Magazine focuses squarely on Loretto’s belief in and commitment to Loretto’s hallmark mission of education. This week on Loretto’s Facebook page we will highlight some of the numerous articles that shine a light on the Community’s tradition of excellence in education, from its earliest days to present times. Loretto’s gift of education remains with all who have been touched by it. Indeed, that gift has the potential to inform and inspire so many others whose lives might be touched through those Loretto has educated.
I Am the Way, Loretto’s Constitutions, Article #37, offers these words about Loretto’s fundamental and living mission of education: “Our long and vital tradition of teaching takes many forms; we desire to educate others as well as ourselves to truth, beauty and the ways of peace, in the spirit of Jesus.”
As Loretto President Barbara Nicholas says in her letter to Loretto Magazine readers of this fall issue, “Let’s join together with thoughts of appreciation and prayers of gratitude for all educators past and present, and all students today, as we savor this issue of Loretto Magazine.” Enjoy!
