At the Loretto Infirmary there is now St. Mary’s Haven, formally known as St. Joseph’s Hall, or St. Joe’s. It is a familiar yet revitalized home to support our residents with memory or other needs. While the St. Joe’s Hall philosophy of providing individualized dementia care remains the same, the new name indicates an opportunity for a fresh approach to creativity and social engagement. Consistent staff are key to building relationships with residents while providing quality and compassionate care.

The unit has 11 private resident rooms, a newly designed shower and a renovated day room. The attached outside courtyard provides opportunities for outdoor activities, gardening or for just sitting quietly in the sun. Max, our Infirmary dog, calls St. Mary’s his home as well and recognizes the needs of each resident with a wag of his tail and his eagerness to be loved.

St. Mary’s Haven encourages residents to live at the highest level of independence, continuing to participate in campus Community events while still ensuring safety and comfort. Come to visit! See me for a personal tour.
