In July 2017, the Loretto Community voted to begin the civil incorporation process for an organization that would dedicate its existence to continuing Loretto’s commitment to justice and peace for years to come.

“We are being called to something new. … This is a time of evolution. It’s a time of letting go and letting in, a time of pain and of joy, a time when religious calling will be very different from the life we have known. We have to figure out how to respond to that urge to move forward,” said Loretto co-member Kim Klein and Loretto Link board member in her speech about the new non-profit.

Why We Exist

Loretto Link is built on the foundations of feminist leadership with a non-hierarchical, democratic structure. The organization’s members believe that it is imperative to carry forward the mission and spirit of Loretto in spiritual community with equal participation and voice to all who choose to belong.

Who We Are

We are 140+ vowed and co-members of the Loretto Community who are now dues paying members of Loretto Link.  As a brand-new organization, we have spent a lot of time figuring out how to get work done, how to be accountable and even what we should be doing!  Since we started we have formed several “working groups” that are focused on a variety of important issues: the elections this year, immigrant rights, how to expand our membership, how to maintain a welcoming spiritual focus and much more.  We have one whole working group called “Structure and Process” that enables and ensures that we live our values. We have an e-newsletter that comes out monthly and we are getting ready for our Annual Meeting in September.

Loretto Link is part of the exciting future of Loretto. Our members are steeped in Loretto values of peace, justice and hospitality and seek to find more and more ways to be of service to a hurting and damaged world. We invite you to follow us on Facebook.
