The Loretto Committee for Peace takes actions that represent the Loretto Community and educates our members and friends on the issues and steps we can take to make peace. The need for peace is great and the obstacles are huge. We collaborate wherever we can and we pray. Join us. Study the issues, take action as you can, and pray with us.

War causes migration. War causes huge carbon releases and directly damages air and land and sea. War is a deadly expression of racism. As President Eisenhower said, the manufacture of guns and warships and missiles is a theft from those who hunger and are homeless.

Diplomacy is an answer to war. Conversation within our houses of faith and our places of work is an answer to war. Cuts in military spending is an answer to war. Our security is not found in fighter planes but in health care and quality education.

The Loretto Committee for Peace strives with all of you to uncloud our vision. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your hearts will be.” (Mt 6:21). Our treasure is our hearts filled with joy.
