Times are hard…our school is learning to navigate a new normal amid a pandemic. War and civil unrest are too close in the rear view mirror. Political parties are quickly headed in opposite directions. Society is struggling to find itself. Technology is advancing at an unsustainable rate, revolutionizing everything from home to industry. There are looming labor issues that threaten businesses and families. Inflation has taken the value of the dollar to a place that scares both young and old. 

Does any of this sound familiar? Believe it or not, this was the reality when the Sisters of Loretto were asked to move from Kentucky to Montgomery to open a new school in 1873.

As Montgomery Catholic prepares to celebrate 149 years of rich history, I can’t help but notice the similarities between our then and now. The Sisters of Loretto persevered in times of uncertainty and built a legacy that Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School still stands on today.
