Loretto Jubilarians: Faithful to the Gospel & Dedicated to Loving God’s People

“The vocation to be a Sister of Loretto shows itself in a spirit of courage and generosity, marked by a trust in God, ingenuity and self-reliance, made firm by a personal response to God through the Church.”
I Am the Way, Loretto Constitutions, #13
When the apostles were on the sea battling the wind and the rain all they wanted to hear was Jesus’ words, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.” How many times have our Jubilarians of 75, 70 or 65 years heard those same words of Jesus, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid,” and sought to follow them faithfully.
Because of their years of living Loretto life, their faithfulness to the Gospel and their love of God’s people, our Jubilee women learned to recognize the presence of Jesus in their midst, even through storms! The power of the Holy Spirit has come upon them – a power given to ordinary people to live out in extraordinary ways. If you asked them about how this gift of the Spirit has come to them through their life in Loretto, they likely would say, “We did it together. We did it because of God’s steady love. We did it because of the grace that comes through Loretto. And we always knew that the promise of God with us has been fulfilled, and we are not afraid.”
Loretto says to our jubilarians:
You who wait with open hands
You who wait in hope
You who wait in prayer
You who wait in courage
You who wait in joy
You who wait in gratitude
You who wait at the Foot of the Cross,
Bless you.
Please join us on Loretto’s Facebook page this week as we honor our members celebrating their 75th, 70th and 65th jubilees. And please stay tuned, as the following week we will honor those with 60, 50 and 25 years of service.
