A few thoughts from your April editor …

What a joyous day for Loretto to gather at the reopening of the Motherhouse dining room! It was wonderful to hear all the voices humming and to see our friends and the Community together in one room, enjoying the repast. Whichever way you looked there were smiling faces and open hearts. What a future is held in these moments. Thank you from the bottom of so many hearts. Thank you from everyone who received this day gladly and this joy from so many hands of staff and those who care for us at Loretto.

I was only able to see the opening in the wonderful photos Donna Mattingly took, but I could hear and feel the love expressed in faces I hope to see in the near future. As COVID-19’s extra worries become a thing past, and we begin to get a handle on how to be safe even within this new virus, we also see that we have been here, we are strong, we are together and we will always work for this moment, for all Loretto and for all who need this humanity which gives love and courage beyond itself.

From left, sharing lunch and smiles are Eleanor Craig, Nancy Wittwer and Denise Ann Clifford.
Together again! From left are Lupe Arciniega, Barbara Schulte and Susie Schulte, Barbara’s sister.
Flowers commemorate the reopening and International Women’s Day.
