Loretto Academy, El Paso, lives out Laudato Si’ principles as Laudato Si’ school

On July 25, 2022, Loretto Academy in El Paso, Texas, in solidarity with the Loretto Community, signed on to the Laudato Si’ Action Platform and took the first steps on the journey of becoming a Laudato Si’ School. During the 2022-2023 school year Loretto Academy formed a flexible working action plan and introduced Laudato Si’ principles to the three schools on the Academy campus.
This past spring, Loretto Academy began its yearlong celebration of 100 years of serving the people of the Southwest. The school launched into its next 100 years as a Laudato Si’ School, dedicated to the health of our beautiful earth and the promotion of all her people. Loretto Sister Liz Deines created a Laudato Si’ calendar to share Laudato Si’ insights with teachers and staff at Loretto Academy in El Paso, Texas. What started out as a one-time calendar celebrating the Day of Creation/Season of Creation, Sept. 1 – Oct. 4, 2022, turned into a monthly calendar celebrating Laudato Si’ in daily life. The calendar is now available to all here.
